Paul Haynes has been an antiquarian bookseller since 1978.  Initially managing  the Travel Department at the Hay Cinema Bookshop for Richard Booth, then Francis Edwards.  Based in Hay on Wye, he travels worldwide to buy and sell rare and old books.  As a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association, the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers and the Provincial Booksellers and Fairs Association he upholds the highest professional standards in the book trade.

Val Haynes began bookselling in Manchester in 1971, then a researcher at Manchester Central Library and the College of Librarianship Wales, moving to Hay on Wye in 1978 to open The Limited Bookshop on Lion Street for Richard Booth, and then managing the Natural History, Science and Literature Departments at the Hay Cinema Bookshop, and now cataloguer and researcher for Paul Haynes Rare Books.

Open by appointment at Rock House, Hay on Wye, Paul Haynes Rare Books has a small varied stock of both antiquarian and scarce books in all subjects, with something of a bias towards the owner's passion for Travel and Exploration.

Whatever your own passion, or developing interest, we hope we can find something to delight, inform, extend or surprise you.
